The very best BBQ fall off the bone baby back ribs!
FALL OF THE BONE BBQ RIBS
This is a summertime family favorite brought to you by slow cooking these beautiful ribs in an aluminum packet and adding some "Rufus Teague Touch of heat BBQ sauce." For years I've made my own BBQ sauce, and it's delicious, but finding Rufus Teague's sauce freed me up in the kitchen to spend more time with my family. Trust me on this, he "made a sauce!"
PREPPING THESE RIBS WITH MY RUB
- Sprinkle each rack with Lawry's garlic salt from top to bottom
- Sprinkle each rack with paprika from top to bottom
- Add crushed black pepper
- Make an aluminum packet and place each rack individually in the packets
- Slow cook at 275 degrees for three hours
GRILLING THE RIBS
- After three hours, get your grill nice and hot and place each rack bone side down and start basting with the sauce heavily on each rack and flip.
- Brush the bone side of the ribs with the sauce and let it cook with the lid up for about 3 minutes, checking to see that it is not burning.
- Flip again, add more sauce and close the lid to your grill and cook an additional 3 minutes.
- Flip once more on the meat side and cook an additional 3-4 minutes.
- If you start losing heat, just put the lid down for a couple of minutes.
- The most important thing is to keep the sauce from burning all the while letting the sauce soak into the delicious rib. Total cook time on the grill 12 to 15 minutes flipping every 3 minutes so as not to burn the sauce or the ribs.
- TIP: using extra long tongs to grab the ribs from underneath to support the ribs as you flip them. These delicious ribs will want to fall off the bone, so support them when you flip.
Choose any side to compliment these ribs. I used fresh green beans with baby sliced potatoes and onions with crispy bacon. This is one dish that will get my daughter to drive and hour and a half to have dinner with us!
